Northwest Territories

Located in northern Canada, the Northwest Territories border the two other
Canadian territories: Nunavut to the east and Yukon to the west, as well as
the three provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan to the south and British
Columbia to the southwest.

This enormous area boasts a vast amount to see and do for those seeking
outdoor adventure.

Major Geographical features include the largest lake entirely within Canada
(Great Bear Lake), as well as Keller Lake and Great Slave Lake, the Mackenzie
River and the awesome canyons of the Nahanni National Park (links open in a new window).

Interestingly, the Northwest Territories are not quite as cold as one would
imagine when looking at a map (especially in Summer) and is actually mostly boreal
forest.
